About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Business Analyst to join our growing IT consulting team in Columbia, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a career in business analysis and technology consulting.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and support the successful delivery of client-facing technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirements workshops.
• Create user stories, process flows, use cases, and business documentation.
• Assist in business process analysis and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate business requirements.
• Track project requirements, risks, issues, and action items.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation for stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Project Coordination, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC concepts and software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work effectively in a client-facing consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Exposure to SQL and data analysis.
• Internship, academic project, or professional experience involving requirements gathering and business process analysis.
• Prior experience in an IT Services or Consulting environment.
• OPT candidates with relevant coursework, internships, or project experience are highly preferred.
