Business Analyst / Business Consultant _ MRO Expertise

About the role:
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions within the air cargo industry. As a member of the industry research and solutions team, you will leverage your knowledge of the air cargo industry to identify opportunities in the value chain for new solutions, analyze complex business processes, and translate them into functional specifications. You will help validate ideas from a business perspective and aid in preparing business solutions as part of client proposals.
Key responsibilities:
Industry Research / Domain Expertise in Air Cargo
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting the air cargo value chain.
• Identify inefficiencies, emerging needs, and innovation opportunities within freight forwarding, customs, handling, and last-mile logistics.
• Map industry best practices to potential solution opportunities for clients.
• Maintain and continuously update a knowledge base of air cargo operations, standards (IATA, ICAO, etc.), and ecosystem players.
• Provide domain advisory to internal teams and clients to ensure solutions align with operational realities.
Solutioning
• Analyze complex business processes and translate them into functional specifications and user stories.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to validate requirements, process flows, and proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and delivery teams to design feasible, scalable solutions.
• Validate solution designs against business objectives and operational constraints before finalization.
• Support proof-of-concept (PoC) or pilot initiatives to test solution feasibility and adoption potential.
Deal Shaping
• Collaborate with sales, account management, and technical teams to define solution scope and align offerings with client business objectives.
• Translate client pain points and opportunities into compelling business cases and value propositions.
• Prepare and deliver clear, persuasive inputs for RFP/RFI responses and client proposals.
• Assess competitive offerings and market positioning to shape commercially viable solutions.
• Support the development of pricing strategies by estimating business benefits and ROI.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure that solutions align with business objectives.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or MBA
• 5-8 years of experience as a business analyst with focus on air cargo domain
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in business analysis methodologies and tools
• Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and testing.
Preferred qualifications:
• Knowledge of emerging technologies like AI/ML, Generative AI, Data Science and Block Chain
• Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools
• Experience in agile project management
