Business Analyst / Business Development (Food Processing Industry)

Emydex Technology is looking for a commercially minded Business Analyst / Business Development professional to support our operations across North America (US and Canada).

This is a remote-first, client-facing role combining business analysis, pre-sales, and industry expertise, working directly with leading food processing companies to identify opportunities and shape solutions.

This role is remote, with occasional travel across the United States and Canada for on-site customer visits.

The Role:

Reporting to the Product Manager, you will work closely with the CEO and international teams to support both pre-sales and post-sales activities, while also contributing to product development initiatives.

This role requires someone comfortable operating at both commercial and operational levels, engaging directly with customers and translating real-world processes into system requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Visit prospective customer sites across North America to understand operations and gather requirements
• Walk factory floors, engage with stakeholders, and document functional specifications
• Support opportunity development through to contract signing
• Prepare outline costings and high-level project plans
• Handover projects to the Emydex delivery team
• Provide occasional on-site pre- and post-go-live support
• Contribute to new product scoping and functional design
• Validate, test and document system functionality

Skills Required:

• Third Level Qualification in business development, marketing, or similar
• Experience in a Business Analyst and Business Development position
• Experience in identifying profitable business opportunities and potential clients
• Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relations
• Competency in researching sales leads, presenting proposals, and negotiating deals.
• Ability to advise on strategic industry partnerships
• Knowledge of Food Processing Industries is essential
• Ability to travel across North America as required
