Business Analyst - Insurance

If you like to build bridges between business stakeholders, translating business needs into clear, actional data requirements – the Business Analyst role is for you! The Business Analyst will work with business and operational leaders to understand challenges and opportunities to articulate the detailed requirements necessary for the delivery of analytics and reporting solutions. In addition, this role focuses on improving decision-making, operational efficiency, and performance outcomes through well-defined analytics use cases, metrics, and insights.

This position provides the flexibility of a hybrid or home-based work arrangement based on residence. The candidate must reside in one of the following states: South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, or Wisconsin. Candidates located in Sioux Falls will follow a 3 days in-office and 2 days remote schedule.

What we are looking for:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in as business analyst, analytics analyst or similar role is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study is required.
  • Strong SQL, reporting, or data analysis literacy is required.
  • Understanding of insurance claims, underwriting and/or financial performance metrics is preferred.
  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is preferred; experience in Workers’ Compensation insurance is a plus!
  • Must have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills and have the ability to work collaborate with all levels across the organization.
  • Must have strong communication and documentation skills.
