The Business Analyst position will foster cross-departmental collaboration to design, implement, and administer competitive agency compensation programs for Frankenmuth Insurance and its subsidiary companies. This role requires leveraging data, technology, and resources to provide tools designed to optimize agency compensation oversight and departmental reporting. Additionally, attention to detail, organization, and effective communication skills are essential for performing key job functions.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Oversee and lead agency compensation programs by:
a. Gathering data to analyze the competitive position of agency incentive compensation programs.
b. Collaborating with executive leaders and business development to set strategic objectives.
c. Extracting and cleansing data, and modeling compensation programs that align to strategic objectives.
d. Presenting analyses and recommendations to executive leaders.
e. Implementing and administering approved agency compensation program changes in collaboration with other Business Analyst(s) and departments.
f. Maintaining reconciliations, approvals, and other documentation, in accordance with company policy.
g. Overseeing and maintaining accurate agency compensation agreements, policies, procedures, and related marketing materials.
2. Serve as an agency compensation subject matter expert to internal staff, agency partners, and auditors.
3. In collaboration with leadership and other business analyst(s) develop and maintain Marketing department and agency compensation reports.
4. Serve as a business lead and/or resource on complex corporate projects representing departmental function.
5. May provide leadership to junior staff through guidance and training.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and/or four or more years of experience in property and casualty insurance, preferably in finance, accounting, agency administration, and/or agency compensation.

Special Skill Requirements:
  • Strong Excel skills and experience reconciling large data sets and modeling data with a combination of formulas such as lookups, sumifs, index match, and other functions.
  • Experience building reports in a reporting tool such as SAP Business Object, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience in collaborating with all levels of an organization.
  • Process orientation and continuous improvement mindset.
Nice-to-haves:
  • Curious, analytical, and strategic mindset.
  • Aptitude for challenging the status quo and effectuating change.
  • Experience building reports in Power BI.
  • Insurance designations, such as AINS, AAI, or AIDA.
  • Compensation designation.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
