Business Analyst – Strategy / Executive Office

Location: Dubai, UAE

Industry Requirement: Previous Business Analyst experience in a mainline shipping company .

Role Overview

The Business Analyst – Executive Office plays a critical role in enabling strategic growth, operational efficiency and decision-making at the highest level. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Executive , the role requires deep analytical capability, strong business acumen and the ability to translate insights into impactful recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a mainline shipping environment , bringing industry-specific understanding of operational workflows, systems and performance levers. This position operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, requiring cross-functional collaboration, structured problem-solving, and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical, current, and forward-looking business trends to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Identify business needs, recommend process enhancements, and drive operational improvements aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements, define project scopes, and support successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and cross-functional meetings to document and visualize business processes and requirements.
  • Assess existing processes, challenge inefficiencies, and propose actionable solutions to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from concept to execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with budget and expectations.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications for system enhancements or new applications.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, operations, finance, and commercial teams to support smooth transitions during process or system changes.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs to measure the effectiveness of newly implemented processes and solutions.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to support strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and insight-driven reports, dashboards, and presentations for CEO and Executive Leadership.
  • Contribute to testing, validation, and quality assurance activities for system or process changes.
  • Stay current on maritime industry trends, technologies, and best practices, working toward becoming an internal subject-matter expert (SME).
  • Coach and mentor junior and mid-level analysts, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • CFA qualification preferred .
  • 5–8 years of Business Analyst experience, within a mainline shipping environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and deliver measurable business value.
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional initiatives in complex organizational environments.


Competencies & Skills

  • Strong proficiency in business analysis frameworks and tools (e.g., BPMN).
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization (Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
  • Deep understanding of mainline shipping operations, systems, and processes.
  • Professional certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and attention to detail.
