This supervisory role ensures strategic alignment between business units, Information Systems (IS), and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The Business Analyst Supervisor oversees the execution of business analysis functions, manages a team of analysts, and ensures the delivery of high-quality system and process enhancements. The position focuses on leadership, mentoring, and coordination of business analysis activities across multiple projects and departments.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor Business Analysts, ensuring consistent quality and alignment with business goals.
Oversee the elicitation and documentation of business requirements across multiple concurrent projects and system enhancements.
Oversee the configuration and implementation of policy, billing, portals, and claims processing systems and workflow enhancements.
Includes, but is not limited to, configuration of products within Guidewire core centers (e.g., Advanced Product Designer, Customer and Producer Portals, Jutro, Rate Books, etc.)
Facilitate collaboration between business, IS, and QA teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and technical solutions.
Review and approve cost-benefit analyses for proposed enhancements.
Lead continuous service improvement initiatives across business and IS processes.
Manage change control processes and ensure compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
Identify opportunities for process re-engineering to improve member service and operational efficiency.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts to deliver strategic business solutions.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer, technical, or business administration-related field from an accredited institution with substantial experience demonstrating required skills.
Strong knowledge of insurance operations, preferably in Property & Casualty.
Ace Certified Business Analyst or equivalent certification preferred.
Proven ability to lead system testing and quality assurance efforts.
Familiarity with Guidewire software and current industry trends.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to bridge business and technical domains effectively.
Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
Proficiency in software development methodologies, including agile and waterfall.
Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record that meets Certified Fleet Operator Status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
Use of PC, telephone, and office equipment for extended periods.
Occasional bending, lifting, and moving items up to 30 lbs.
Extended periods of sitting and concentration.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Provide after-hours problem resolution as needed.
Occasional long, irregular hours.
Work conducted in office environments owned or leased by the company.
Travel as required.
