Business Analyst/Planning Engineer

Crimson Resource Management has an immediate opening for a Business Analyst/Planning Engineer in Bakersfield, California. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Development and be responsible for the planning process and all related business activities including reserves coordination, fiscal budgeting, economic evaluation and capital deployment, and asset performance reporting. This position requires the ability to communicate and work effectively across the company’s organizational structure often under multiple deadlines and “quick-hit” projects across broad job responsibilities.

Current pay range for this position is reasonably expected to range from $90,000 – $130,000. This position is an exempt, full-time position. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Position Roles and Responsibilities:

• Coordination of reserves determination process with engineering staff
• Assist operations and engineering staff with planning and reserves process to ensure consistent evaluation, reporting, and documentation
• Provide analyses to Executive and Corporate staff as requested
• Standardize variance reports and reporting actual performance vs forecast
• Assist VP of Corporate Development with investor presentations
• Coordination of capital budgeting and associated economics
• Work to take ownership and improve existing processes
• Assist in acquisition analysis
• Learn ARIES software and become a resource for technical staff
• Occasional travel to the field or out of state may be required

Critical Skills and Knowledge:

• Effective oral and written communication abilities
• Ability to collaborate with employees throughout the organizational structure
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Experience with ARIES modeling software
• Experience with economic evaluations
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
• Willingness to assume broad job responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and interdependently on assignments

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering is a requirement / MBA is a plus
• One to five years of industry work experience is preferred
