Position Overview
We are seeking a broker to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. In this position, the new broker plays a vital role in supporting deal flow, managing client relationships, conducting financial analysis, and learning the brokerage process. This is a great opportunity for someone with a business, finance, or sales background. The person in this role will be the right-hand for the Sr. Broker. We will train the right person. This is also a high visibility role with significant responsibility. Due to the nature of our business, confidentiality is a must.
Here's the hard part:
- This position is a 1099 (independent contractor) role and is 100% commission. No salary, no benefits.
- There's driving involved. We cover the entire state of PA and DE. That means driving to clients whenever necessary.
- You can expect that it will be ~9 months before your first paycheck. But when that paycheck hits, it's usually mid 5 figures to mid 6 figures and you should see several of those per year.
Here's the good part:
- Even with the startup period, earning $200,000 in your first year is a reasonable expectation.
- $400,000 per year within the next 2 years is also a reasonable target.
- We pay ALL marketing expenses - cell phone, business cards, mailings, advertising, appointment setters, websites, etc.
- You're only responsible for your vehicle costs.
- Training and mentorship from experienced brokers
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in valuing businesses using financial statements and industry benchmarks
- Conduct market research to identify buyer/seller trends and opportunities
- Assist Sr. Broker with coordinating buyer-seller communications and provide financial / marketing information to potential buyers as needed
- Help to manage CRM data and track leads
- Shadow senior brokers to learn deal strategy, negotiation, and closing tactics
- Attend networking events, client meetings, and business valuation sessions
- Offer exceptional customer service to clients throughout the buying or selling process
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field
- Experience in sales, finance, real estate, or customer-facing roles
- Ability to perform a financial analysis of a business using Balance Sheets, P and L's, Tax Returns.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information
- Familiarity with CRM tools
- Experience as a business owner or small business management a plus
- Strong sales and lead generation skills with a demonstrable record of success
- Access to an automobile and willingness to travel throughout the sales territory
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Ability to help with current listings, solicit new listings and generate leads
