We are seeking a proactive and persuasive Business Developer to expand our marketplace by onboarding small, medium, and large businesses. This role is centered on identifying potential sellers, encouraging them to join our platform, and supporting them throughout the product listing process. The ideal candidate excels in client outreach, values long-term partnerships, and is passionate about driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential sellers across diverse industries—from small shops to large retailers.
- Visit businesses in person to pitch the platform, highlight its benefits, and assist with registration.
- Conduct online and in-person presentations to explain platform features, pricing, and advantages.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term engagement.
- Prepare and send professional outreach emails, proposals, and follow-up messages.
- Make follow-up calls to close deals and guide sellers until their products are fully listed.
- Create and share newsletters, promotional materials, and onboarding guides for new sellers.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to enhance seller acquisition strategies.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor platforms, and seller needs to improve the onboarding experience.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly targets for new seller registrations and active product listings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, vendor acquisition, or marketplace onboarding (preferred).
- Strong persuasive abilities and clear value-based presentation skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable conducting in-person visits and fieldwork.
- Strong follow-up habits and organizational skills.
- Proficient in email outreach, call handling, and CRM tools.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to manage time effectively.
- Willingness to travel for seller visits and acquisition activities.
