Job Description: Business Developer (Local/Online - Preferably Local Market)

As a Business Developer for our company, you will be responsible for researching, bidding, and securing projects within the local market, with a focus on online platforms. You will collaborate closely with our team to understand project requirements, create compelling proposals, and establish long-term relationships with clients. Your main role will involve navigating platforms, submitting tailored proposals, and engaging effectively with potential clients to drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Bid on Projects: Research and identify relevant projects within the desired niche (e.g., software development, marketing, design, etc.), analyze client requirements, and submit personalized, well-written proposals to secure the project.
  • Client Engagement: Respond promptly to client inquiries, arrange meetings, and negotiate terms to ensure mutual understanding and success for both parties.
  • Proposal Writing: Craft persuasive proposals and personalized cover letters that align with the client’s needs, emphasizing our value proposition and expertise.
  • Maintain Client Relationships: Build trust and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business through long-term partnerships.
  • Research Market Trends: Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and platform changes to continuously optimize your bidding strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with our internal team to understand project requirements and ensure clear and effective communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reporting & Monitoring: Track the progress of bids, report on successful proposals, and monitor key performance metrics to keep management informed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development or a similar role, particularly in securing projects within the local market and online platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of online business development, including the bidding process, proposal writing, and client communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to meet client needs.
  • Experience in software development, mobile apps, web design, or marketing (specific industry experience is a plus).
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A portfolio or examples of previous successful bids is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of mobile apps, web software development, or technical expertise in relevant industries.
  • Familiarity with Upwork or similar freelancing platforms, along with knowledge of freelancing best practices and techniques.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with commission-based incentives based on project outcomes.
  • Special percentage share based on the value of each project secured.
