VRMB Owner Direct is a locally owned vacation rental marketplace connecting travelers directly with property owners while helping local businesses reach thousands of visitors each year. Our mission is to keep more tourism dollars in the local economy by providing an affordable alternative to national booking platforms.

We’re looking for a driven Business Development Executive who is passionate about building relationships, closing deals, and helping grow a local business with unlimited earning potential.

Position Summary

This is a true business development role. Your primary responsibility is to generate new revenue by selling vacation rental listing packages and local business advertising opportunities.

You will identify prospects, build relationships, conduct sales presentations, and close new business throughout the Grand Strand.

This is not a customer service, administrative, or marketing position. Success in this role is measured by one thing: new revenue generated.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect for new property owners and local businesses through networking, referrals, cold outreach, social media, and community engagement.
• Conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations.
• Build and maintain relationships with vacation rental owners, boutique property managers, and local businesses.
• Educate prospects on the benefits of VRMB Owner Direct and recommend the best package for their needs.
• Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals.
• Maintain an organized sales pipeline and follow-up schedule.
• Represent VRMB Owner Direct at networking events, hospitality meetings, chamber events, trade shows, and community functions.
• Provide leadership with market feedback and opportunities for future growth.

What This Position Does NOT Do

• Manage social media
• Build websites
• Create graphics
• Handle customer service issues
• Onboard new clients
• Perform administrative support
• Manage vendor accounts after the sale

Find prospects. Build relationships. Close business. Repeat.

Qualifications

• Proven success in business development, outside sales, advertising sales, real estate sales, hospitality sales, or B2B sales.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable prospecting through cold calls, networking, and face-to-face meetings.
• Highly self-motivated and results-driven.
• Strong negotiation and closing skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Reliable transportation for local travel throughout the Grand Strand.
• Familiarity with the vacation rental or hospitality industry is a plus but not required.

Compensation

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position designed for high performers.

You’ll earn through a commission-heavy compensation plan with additional incentives for exceeding sales goals.

Travel Requirements

Local travel throughout the Grand Strand—from Little River to Pawleys Island—is expected.

You’ll spend your time meeting property owners, visiting local businesses, attending networking events, and building relationships within the hospitality community.

Reliable transportation is required.

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own mileage, vehicle expenses, and taxes.
