Key Responsibilities:Export Business Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in international markets for FMCG products.
- Conduct market research to identify potential distributors, importers, and partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas clients, agents, and trade partners.
- Develop country-wise export plans and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with foreign buyers and distributors.
- Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets.
Import Operations:
- Source and evaluate potential international suppliers for raw materials, packaging, or finished goods.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with foreign vendors.
- Ensure timely import of materials and manage import documentation (LC, Bill of Entry, etc.).
- Coordinate with logistics and customs agents for smooth import-export operations.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and manage export-import documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BL, COO, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, FSSAI, and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with CHA, freight forwarders, and government authorities for documentation and clearances.
Sales & Marketing Support:
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and market demand in global markets.
- Collaborate with marketing teams for branding, packaging, and promotional strategies suitable for export markets.
- Provide input for new product development based on global consumer insights.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly reports on sales performance, new leads, and market trends.
- Track shipment schedules, customer feedback, and payment collections.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of international trade procedures and documentation.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of FMCG market dynamics and export-import regulations.
- Ability to identify and develop long-term business partnerships.
- Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and trade portals (DGFT, ICEGATE, etc.).
Qualification & Experience:
- Graduate / MBA in International Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in export-import business development (preferably in FMCG / food industry).
- Experience dealing with international distributors or modern trade partners will be an added advantage.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Growth in export sales and new market acquisitions.
- Number of new distributors or importers onboarded.
- Timely completion of export-import documentation.
- Customer satisfaction and repeat business rate.
- Compliance with trade laws and timely shipments.
