Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

Position Overview

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and managing client relationships within the assigned territory. The role requires strong knowledge of the diagnostics/healthcare industry, excellent negotiation skills, and strategic planning to achieve revenue targets and support business profitability.

1. Sales & Business Development

· Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for diagnostic products/services.

· Identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and emerging markets in the assigned area.

· Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.

· Generate sales leads through field visits, referrals, networking, and corporate tie-ups.

2. Client Relationship Management

· Build and maintain strong business relationships with doctors, hospitals, pathologists, and diagnostic centers.

· Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely support, quality service, and effective communication.

· Resolve customer issues, complaints, and service-related concerns promptly.

3. Territory & Team Management

· Plan and manage daily field activities, including client visits, follow-ups, and sales calls.

· Monitor sales performance in the territory and ensure proper coverage of all key accounts.

· Lead, guide, and motivate the sales team (if applicable) to achieve assigned targets.

· Coordinate with internal departments (operations, logistics, billing, and marketing) for smooth execution of services.

4. Reporting & Documentation

· Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and forecasts.

· Maintain proper documentation of client interactions, agreements, pricing, and account updates.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structure, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

· Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

· Good understanding of the diagnostics/pathology industry, tests, and healthcare market trends.

· Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver excellent client service.

· Strategic thinking, target-oriented mindset, and problem-solving ability.

· Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools.

· Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, or Healthcare (preferred).

· MBA in Marketing/Sales will be an added advantage.

· Minimum 4–6 years of experience in sales within the diagnostics, healthcare, or medical devices industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
