Business Development Manager — Distribution

Modo Technologies is a fast-growing smart home and smart security distributor, bringing world-class brands — including Aqara, Lockin, SwitchBot, and more — to the UAE markets. Headquartered in Dubai, we are strengthening our distribution network across the UAE and wider GCC, and are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to lead this charge on the ground.

Role Overview

As BDM – Distribution for Dubai & UAE, you will be at the forefront of Modo Technologies' commercial growth in the region. You will identify, onboard, and develop a strong network of distributors, resellers, system integrators, and channel partners across the UAE and GCC, with a focus on smart home, smart security, and IoT products. This is a high-ownership role with direct impact on revenue and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities

Channel Development

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard distribution partners, dealers, and resellers across the UAE
  • Build and manage a structured channel partner program with defined tiers, margins, and KPIs
  • Develop and execute a regional go-to-market strategy for key product lines

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Own and drive sell-in and sell-out targets across the partner network
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching to deal closure and account management
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline; provide regular forecasts and performance reports to leadership
  • Identify opportunities across B2B, B2B2C, retail, e-commerce, and project-based channels

Partner Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all channel and distribution partners in the UAE
  • Conduct regular business reviews and joint planning sessions with key partners
  • Equip partner teams with product training, sales collateral, and demo support
  • Coordinate with marketing on joint campaigns, trade show presence, and retail activations

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track competitor activity, pricing strategies, and channel movements across the GCC
  • Relay market insights to the product and leadership teams to inform sourcing and positioning decisions
  • Identify high-potential verticals — real estate developers, hospitality, facility management, MEP contractors

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in channel sales, distribution, or business development in the UAE or GCC
  • Proven track record of building and growing distribution or reseller networks in the region
  • Experience in consumer electronics, smart home, IoT, security, AV, or technology products
  • Strong existing relationships with UAE-based distributors, retailers, or system integrators
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and build from the ground up
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
  • Valid UAE driving licence

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with smart home ecosystems (Matter, Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Apple Home, Google Home)
  • Existing relationships with real estate developers, hospitality groups, or MEP contractors in the UAE
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms operating in the UAE (Amazon.ae, Noon, etc.)
  • Understanding of import/export and distribution logistics in the GCC

Location & Structure

Based in Dubai, UAE. Travel across the UAE and occasional GCC travel required. Reporting directly to the leadership team at Modo Technologies.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

  • distribution: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • English, Arabic or Hindi (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Drivers Licence (Preferred)
