Business Development Manager (Outside Sales – Security Systems)

Complex Security Systems, Inc. is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive aggressive new business growth across commercial, municipal, and enterprise markets. This is an outside sales role focused on winning new accounts, expanding market share, and developing long-term relationships for integrated security solutions. We design and deploy systems including Genetec, CCURE 9000/Software House, Bosch, Kantech, Avigilon, Milestone, CCTV/IP video, access control, alarm, and low-voltage security technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, pursue, and close new opportunities across municipal, K–12, higher education, government, city agencies, public safety, retail, industrial, commercial, and healthcare/medical markets.
- Develop strategies to expand into new verticals, especially medical, healthcare, and high-volume retail.
- Respond to RFPs/RFQs, participate in public bidding, navigate procurement portals, and create compliant proposals for city, county, and school district contracts.
- Conduct onsite meetings, walkthroughs, needs assessments, solution reviews, and executive-level presentations.
- Sell consultatively across access control, video surveillance, intrusion, alarms, and enterprise-level security platforms.
- Lead pursuit teams to develop winning proposals, including pricing, scopes of work, and solution differentiation.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline at 3:1 over target through continuous prospecting and relationship-building.
- Create long-term account development plans for medical, municipal, utilities, education, and retail verticals.
- Collaborate with engineering, service, project management, and leadership teams to ensure high-quality customer experience and execution.
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, forecasting, bid tracking, and revenue projections.
What You Bring:
- 5–10+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, or security integration sales.
- Proven success selling security systems or low-voltage technologies in commercial or public-sector environments.
- Familiarity with public bidding, RFP/RFQ processes, school district procurement, city/government contracting, and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of access control (Genetec, CCURE, Software House, Kantech), VMS/video systems (Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, ExacqVision), and intrusion/alarm platforms (Bosch, DSC, Honeywell, DMP).
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, facilities managers, IT directors, school administrators, city officials, healthcare leadership, and retail security teams.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and financial analysis skills.
- Highly driven, competitive, and comfortable building business from the ground up.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and large opportunities across multiple stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for onsite meetings and field engagements.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
