Job Summary

The Business Development (BD) Manager at Atlantic Brain and Spine (ABS) is responsible for increasing the practice’s market share, reputation, and revenue, across all practice and associated hospital locations, by implementing strategic growth plans befitting a neurosurgical and orthopedic spine group. This role focuses on expanding the network of referring providers, enhancing brand visibility in the community, and ensuring high satisfaction among referral sources and patients. The BD Manager drives patient volume and revenue growth by cultivating relationships with referring physicians (e.g., PCPs, neurologists, pain management, etc.), insurers, and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Referral Network Development: Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with primary care physicians, neurologists, pain management specialists, oncologists, ENT, hospitalists, and emergency departments to increase patient referrals.
  • Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and execute business development and outreach strategies to promote specialized neurosurgery & orthopedic spine services (brain tumor, neurovascular, spine, facial pain, neuromodulation, and epilepsy).
  • Relationship Management: Conduct regular, in-person visits to referring offices to provide updates on services, surgeons, and scheduling, ensuring high-touch service.
  • Data Analysis & CRM Management: Maintain a CRM database (i.e., Marketware) of all physician activity, analyze referral volume trends, and report on ROI of business development efforts.
  • Brand Awareness: Collaborate with the ABS marketing team to strengthen brand visibility, including digital presence, community education events, and professional networking.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and foster partnerships with regional hospital systems, strategically aligned groups, and insurers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in medical, neurosurgical, orthopedic, or spine-related business development, physician liaison, or sales roles.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact with physicians and C-suite hospital executives.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build trust and maintain long-term, cooperative networks.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Marketware and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, specifically in neurosurgery, spine, or orthopedics.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Pay: From $87,500.00 per year
