As part of our expansion, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager & Team Lead / Upwork Bidder who can drive lead generation, client acquisition, lead business development operations, and build long-term strategic relationships within the e-commerce industry.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with proven experience in Upwork bidding, sales strategy, and client conversion. This role requires leadership capabilities, strong business acumen, and the ability to manage and optimize the entire business development cycle from lead generation to closing high-value clients.
You will play a key role in scaling the agency’s growth by leading business development initiatives, improving bidding strategies, and mentoring the team to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage business development operations for Upwork, Fiver and other Freelance platforms
- Identify, evaluate, and secure high-quality projects related to Amazon Private Label and e-commerce services
- Develop winning bidding strategies and oversee proposal quality to maximize conversions
- Write and review personalized, high-converting proposals and cover letters
- Build strong relationships with prospects and convert leads into long-term clients
- Manage Upwork profiles, portfolio positioning, and agency credibility for higher visibility
- Strategically manage connects budget, bidding spend, and ROI-focused campaigns
- Analyze performance metrics, conversion ratios, and sales pipelines to optimize growth
- Train, mentor, and guide junior bidding/business development team members
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to align client expectations and project delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in Business Development, Upwork bidding, or sales leadership within an e-commerce or digital agency
- Strong understanding of Upwork’s platform, bidding algorithms, proposal strategies, and lead conversion techniques
- Hands-on experience managing connects budgets and achieving ROI-driven sales targets
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities
- Ability to independently manage business development strategies and revenue goals
- Prior experience working with Amazon Private Label or e-commerce clients is highly preferred
- Good understanding of Amazon services, including product research, listing optimization, PPC, and account management
