Technical Sales Representative - Welding & Welding Automation

Our client, a leader in welding & piping automation solutions, is embarking on an ambitious growth journey with plans to expand both domestically and internationally. Specializing in innovative products ranging from consumables to high-value capital equipment, they provide tailored solutions for robotic systems, orbital welding, and more. With a focus on driving new business, they're seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their growing team in Victoria or interstate. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a company focused on scaling its operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Drive business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the welding & piping automation market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, focusing on discovering needs, demonstrating solutions, and closing orders.
  • Manage a mix of sales cycles, including consumable products and high-value capital equipment such as orbital welding systems and robotics platforms.
  • Collaborate with the handover team to ensure smooth transitions after sales and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct hands on product demonstrations and recommend technical solutions tailored to client applications.
  • Report directly to the Sales Manager and contribute to the company's broader growth strategy.
About You
  • Proven experience in technical sales or business development, preferably within welding or piping automation or related capital equipment.
  • Hands on knowledge of welding basics and the ability to analyze applications to recommend optimal solutions.
  • A results driven approach with strong skills in closing sales and managing diverse sales cycles (3 weeks to 12 months).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building new relationships and presenting technical solutions confidently.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive attitude and willingness to grow with the business.
