Business Development Officer

The Business Development Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing cash management products and services that meet the needs of commercial and small business clients. This individual will identify new business opportunities, deepen existing relationships, and help drive deposit growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and acquire new commercial deposit and cash management relationships as well as partner with lenders and branch managers to identify cross sell opportunities.
  • Conduct prospecting, networking, and participation in community and industry events to build visibility and relationships.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of new business opportunities through relationship calling and targeted marketing efforts.
  • Consult with clients to assess cash flow needs and recommend appropriate products such as ACH origination, remote deposit capture, online banking, positive pay, merchant services, and sweep accounts.
  • Manage the onboarding and implementation process for new clients, ensuring timely and accurate setup of treasury products and services.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cash management, or commercial banking.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of commercial deposit products, treasury management systems, and banking operations.
  • Excellent consultative sales, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze client financial needs and recommend effective solutions.
  • High level of professionalism, initiative, and customer service orientation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online banking platforms.
