Business development officer (BDO)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to generate new business opportunities, manage online freelancing platforms, and build long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding our client base through direct outreach as well as platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork, and Freelancer.

This is an in-house position based in Bahria Town, Lahore.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through online and offline channels
  • Generate qualified leads and convert prospects into clients
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities
  • Communicate with potential clients through calls, emails, and meetings
  • Present company services professionally to prospective clients
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and business presentations
  • Maintain and manage a structured sales pipeline and follow-up process
  • Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships

Freelance Platform Management (Core Responsibility)

  • Build, optimize, and manage company profiles on Fiverr and Upwork
  • Actively search and bid on relevant projects on Upwork, Freelancer, and similar platforms
  • Write customized proposals tailored to client requirements
  • Improve profile rankings through strategy and performance optimization
  • Monitor platform analytics and continuously improve conversion rates
  • Maintain professional communication with platform clients

Client Coordination & Reporting

  • Understand client requirements and communicate them to internal teams
  • Support smooth onboarding of new clients
  • Maintain records of leads, bids, and conversions
  • Provide regular reports on outreach performance and platform growth

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in business development or client acquisition
  • Proven experience managing Fiverr, Upwork, or freelance platforms
  • Strong proposal writing and bidding skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet growth targets
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in agency or service-based environments
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking systems
  • Understanding of digital services and online business models
  • Experience handling international clients

Tools Experience

  • Fiverr & Upwork dashboards
  • Freelancer platform
  • CRM software (HubSpot, Zoho, or similar)
  • Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • LinkedIn outreach tools
