The Opportunity: Your Path to a Sales Career

The Business Development Representative (BDR) role is a structured 6–12 month sales development program designed to build the foundation for a successful career as a licensed Sales Agent. This role serves as the entry point into our sales organization, where you’ll master outbound prospecting, learn workers’ compensation fundamentals, and develop the skills needed to succeed in a high-performance sales environment.

Mission of the Role

To serve as a high-energy entry point into the sales organization by mastering outbound prospecting, agency processes, and workers’ compensation basics, with the goal of graduating into a licensed Sales Agent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute a high volume of outbound cold calls (100+ daily) to identify and qualify prospective clients
  • Solicit insurance opportunities through phone outreach using company systems and tools
  • Follow established scripts and training protocols to overcome objections and qualify leads
  • Accurately log all activity in Salesforce to ensure smooth handoff to Sales Agents
  • Collaborate with Sales Coaches and team members to drive performance and growth
  • Participate in daily huddles, weekly coaching sessions, and call reviews
  • Complete required licensing coursework within the first 4 months
  • Maintain operations by adhering to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

  • Activity: Minimum of 100 outbound calls per business day
  • Results: Generate and submit at least 10 qualified applications per week

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior sales or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Comfortable using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Typing speed of 6575 WPM preferred

Training & Development

  • Week 1 Onboarding: Introduction to workers’ compensation, systems, and sales processes
  • Ongoing Coaching: Weekly 1:1 sessions, call reviews, and performance tracking
  • Daily Huddles: Team motivation, strategy alignment, and recognition

Career Path

Successful completion of the program (6–12 months) leads to promotion into a Sales Agent role, contingent upon obtaining the required state license through an external, off-site process. Paramount Exclusive supports licensing and celebrates your advancement with a formal graduation into the next phase of your sales career.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily seated, with frequent use of hands, phone, and computer systems
  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 5 lbs)
  • Moderate noise level in a professional office setting

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Sales Coach / Sales Manager.
