SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
As a Data Engineer, you will work with our Data Analytics team. The primary duties will include planning and implementing the collection, documentation, migration, and utilization of data across the organization. You will work with internal business units on classification, tagging, and scoring systems to support automation of business processes. You will implement the latest tech and practice data analysis and visualization in an engaging and exciting environment.
- Reduce the friction between ideation and implementation of data initiatives

Identify gaps in our reporting and data pipeline, work with stakeholders to fill them

Document needs across the organization for additional data ingestion or representation at all levels

Liaison to Dev and QA teams to ensure the technical document proposed data flows are executed

Ensure gradual but positive momentum towards long-term data architecture goals

Assist in the execution of the Analytics team's primary function of supporting internal data units through the better use of information, with a day-to-day focus on data reliability and accessibility.

Extract data from a diverse set of sources - SQL databases, document databases, REST APIs, etc.

Build, maintain, automate, and optimize data integration activities, utilizing and improving our existing data pipelines and performing general ETL duties.

Free information from the confinement of datastores - turning information into insights and products that help our customers improve their learning experience, and our staff to aid them in that quest via classification, tagging, and reporting.

BS in Math, Analytics, Operations Research, Applied Statistics, Data Mining, Computer Science, or other related quantitative discipline.

Understanding of data structures and storage, visualization and reporting, and development best practices.

Experience using data warehousing tools or code to perform data exploration and analysis.

Experience writing SQL queries or stored procedures.

Javascript or Typescript experience.

This position is a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position, exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year, aligned with experience and skill level.
