PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Business Office Intern supports the daily administrative and operational functions of the business office, with a focus on assisting with accounting-related duties. This role provides hands-on experience in areas such as data entry, financial recordkeeping, and general office support. This is a short-term assignment expected to run through Summer 2026 to support a temporary staffing need.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliation of Foundation bank accounts.
  • Reconcile General Ledger account activity with activity imported from external payment processors.
  • Prepare sales tax calculation and file with the state monthly.
  • Prepare Foundation report for Board of Trustees.
  • Donor gifts in Foundation software to assign gift credit.
  • Assist with grant expense tracking and reporting.
  • Assist with year-end processes.
  • Assist in preparing for the audit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • A junior or senior Accounting major working towards degree.
  • Must possess organizational abilities and superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications, especially Excel, with a high degree of accuracy and personal computer skills is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities; deal with conflict appropriately; withstand pressure and remain calm in tense situations, accurate; flexible; dependable; responsible; promotes teamwork; demonstrates a positive attitude is required.
