McGregor supports older adults through residential living and community-based services. Our purpose statement is Your journey is personal We help you get there. We are recruiting a diverse pool of undergraduate students for a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in aging services and healthcare finance/operations. Interns will be mentored by business office leaders and collaborate with multiple teams across operations and finance.
Position Summary
This internship offers a rotation through a senior living business office with structured exposure to:

PACE health plan management (including financial/claims-related work)

Compliance & audit readiness support (process and audit assistance)

Procurement & vendor management (vendor analysis and ordering)
-
Accounts Receivable (A/R) (billing support, statements, cash posting)
-
Accounts Payable (A/P) (invoice processing, controls, documentation)

Other cross-functional projects focused on efficiency and improvement opportunities
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, you will be able to:

Describe how a senior living business office supports multiple service lines (including PACE, Skilled Nursing, Independent Living , and Assisted Living)

Apply foundational accounting concepts to A/P, A/R, and claims-related analysis

Strengthen professional skills in process improvement, communication, and analytical thinking
Qualifications Required

Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field

Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

Excellent computer skills; comfort learning financial/accounting systems

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff at all levels

Interest in aging services, healthcare finance, compliance, and process improvement

Strong presentation and writing skills; involvement in student/community service
Time Commitment & Compensation

Duration: 10-week internship – 24 hour per week

Schedule: 3 days/week preferred, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Wage: $18.00 hourly
Preferred candidates will have strong academic credentials, are involved in student or community service activities, familiar with technology, and have strong presentation and writing skills.
