Lead the business operations that support life-changing care. We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Office Manager to oversee the financial and administrative functions of our Neuro Rehabilitation Hospital. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient and family experience.
The Business Office Manager is responsible for directing all aspects of the business office, including billing, collections, insurance verification, admissions support, and medical records coordination. This leader will work closely with clinical and executive teams to ensure smooth operations and financial performance in a specialized neuro rehabilitation setting.
Business Office Operations:
- Oversee daily operations of the business office, including billing, collections, and accounts receivable
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to Medicare, Medicaid.
- Monitor reimbursement, denials, and aging reports; implement strategies to improve cash flow
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations
Admissions & Financial Coordination:
- Supervise admissions processes including insurance verification, authorizations, and financial counseling
- Collaborate with case management and clinical teams to ensure appropriate payer coverage and documentation
- Support patient/family communication regarding financial responsibilities
Medical Records & Compliance:
- Oversee medical records processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and HIPAA compliance
- Support audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews
- Ensure documentation standards meet reimbursement and accreditation requirement
Required:
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare business office, billing, or revenue cycle management
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes
- Experience with accounts receivable, claims management, and collections
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Proficiency with EMR systems and healthcare billing software
Preferred:
- RHIT or RHIA certification (or eligibility)
- Experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or neuro/brain injury setting
- Knowledge of inpatient rehab or post-acute care reimbursement models
- Understanding of HIPAA, compliance, and medical records management
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
