Skilled Nursing Facility Business Office Manager – Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and organized Business Office Manager to oversee the financial and administrative operations of our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing, collections, resident trust management and compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations while providing excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all business office functions, including accounts receivable, collections, resident trust accounts, and cash management.
- Oversee Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance billing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims and follow-up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Assist residents and families with financial questions, admission paperwork, and insurance matters.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and maintain accurate records.
- Work collaboratively with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to support facility operations.
- Monitor reimbursement changes and implement best practices to maximize collections.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Business Office Manager role, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance billing.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, collections, and financial reporting.
- Experience with electronic health records and billing software preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
