BITCO Corporation, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Business Solutions Architecture Director to join our team. With 11 branch offices in 10 states, BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including Construction, Forest Products, and Oil & Gas.
Position Summary:
This role focuses on ensuring a future core business system portfolio that is resilient, robust, scalable, and adaptive to BITCO's strategy and business needs. This leader collaborates with business partners to ensure BITCO maximizes our investment in forward looking platforms to drive platform maturity, eliminate out-of-system work arounds, remove redundancy, and continually manage technical debt.
This role strategically supports leaders across BITCO to have system and data models that allow them flexibility to respond on a timely basis to compliance/regulatory needs, market demands, and client change. Additionally, this role partners with key stakeholders across the business to ensure effective alignment of related portfolios, programs, initiatives, and projects to the BITCO Strategic Plan. This leader is dedicated to implementing the science of technology while measuring and adapting to the art of our business.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and orchestrate the development and maturity of a multi-year technology roadmap, integrating business aspirations, current challenges, target state design, technology stack, and internal and external capabilities, with a focus on modernization and platform value of insurance policy, billing, claims, and integrated systems to align with strategic goals
- Partner with IT Development team, program management, and external research leaders to prioritize technical investments, ensuring innovation, scalability, and execution at enterprise scale
- Ability to gain a deep and thorough understanding of how the organization creates value for its internal and external stakeholders in order to properly prioritize platform investments, project sequences, and ecosystem design
- Partner with Business and Technology Leaders, Digital Solutions, and additional key stakeholders across BITCO to enhance the alignment of strategy to technology execution by translating long-term business strategies into assessments of capabilities that support the future state architecture.
- Collaborate with and work across all areas to develop maturity journeys of our technology investments and lead the IT Partnership to ensure functional areas are success and understand and prioritize competing priorities of the organization
- In conjunction with Digital Solutions team, define and drive the technology components of our leaders vision, strategy, and execution for Duck Creek Platform, Data Services, other related business systems to enable leaders to orchestrate, extend, and envision how they deliver to their stakeholders
- Shape the roadmap and investment strategy, aligning product priorities with business growth, customer adoption, and market differentiation to scale BITCO's ecosystem
- Foster a high-performance culture, championing collaboration, innovation, and a customer-first mindset to maximize impact across BITCOs ecosystem
- Influence and align cross-functional teams—including business, technologists, functional managers, and senior executives—driving a shared vision for AI and customer first experiences across our enterprise
- Engage with customers, partners, and industry leaders, representing agentic AI strategy and identifying new opportunities for leverage and adoption into experiences.
- Anticipate market shifts and competitive dynamics, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive customer engagement and business impact
- Understand the business and information systems themes, markets, and future technology concepts to ensure portfolio delivers ahead of critical business need and achieves scale
- Analyze existing and/or proposed systems to implement, integrate, monitor, and optimize appropriate strategies, processes, systems, and methodologies to support core insurance operations
- Work with the business to understand operational and strategic plans to support business processes/ operations and recommend capability enhancements through collaborative engagements with key stakeholders and guide investment and execution by developing integrated roadmaps
- Identify transformation priorities to define and present for approval business cases that align with strategic plans
- Facilitate system implementation balance of configuration, customization, and changing business process with a strong focus on ease-of-upgrades in the future
- Awareness and optionality identification of interdependencies between multiple large-scale multi-functional transformation efforts
- Ensure the transition of projects' deliverables, capabilities, and outcomes into ‘business-as-usual' operations while portfolio-wide scope and risks are effectively managed by delivery teams.
- Identify cross-portfolio resource needs in partnership with delivery partners and IT Leadership to eliminate bottlenecks

Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related with at least 10+ years of experience with business support operations and automated testing tools in a property and casualty insurance setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of product management leadership experience, including managing cross-functional teams and driving ecosystem growth
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse teams and stakeholders around a shared vision
- Deep understanding of insurance industry, functional processes, people, technology processes, and industry technology providers; prior experience working in the insurance industry in a similar role strongly preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of business needs and processes and aligning to new system capabilities to reduce customizations, drive efficiency, and achieve organizational goals.
- Understanding of Generative AI and Cloud platform technologies, with experience building scalable, extensible solutions.
- Proven track record in ecosystem development, working with partners, third-party developers, and enterprise customers to expand product adoption.
- Strong customer insight, critical thinking, and product innovation skills, with a history of delivering AI-driven solutions that drive business impact
- Ability to lead and influence across organizations, fostering collaboration across insurance functional areas, IT, and external stakeholders.
- Experience defining and executing complex product roadmaps, balancing strategic vision with near-term execution
