Business Systems Analyst — Job Description
Overview
Business Systems Analyst (BSA) bridges business needs and IT solutions by analyzing requirements, designing processes, and supporting implementation to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, document, and validate business and system requirements using interviews, workshops, and user stories.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (product owners, developers, QA, operations) through the project lifecycle.
- Analyze current-state processes and design future-state workflows; identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Support system design, configuration, integration, data mapping, and testing (UAT).
- Create and maintain documentation: requirements traceability matrix, user guides, process diagrams, and release notes.
- Prioritize features and manage backlog items with product owners; estimate effort and impact.
- Perform data analysis, reporting, and KPI definition to inform decisions.
- Assist with vendor evaluations, RFPs, and implementation support.
- Provide training, go-live support, and post-implementation troubleshooting; drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–7 years experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related roles.
- Proficiency with requirement tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps), process modeling (Visio, Lucidchart), and SQL for data queries.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall) and experience participating in sprint ceremonies.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Preferred
- Title alternatives: Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, Product Analyst.
- Employment type: Full-time; hybrid work optional.
- Certifications preferred: CBAP, CCBA, IIBA-AAC, or Scrum Product Owner.
- Domain experience preferred: finance, healthcare, e-commerce, ERP (SAP/Oracle), CRM (Salesforce).
- Travel: Minimal; up to 10% for stakeholder workshops if required.
Pay: QAR99.10 - QAR432.11 per hour
