Business Systems Engineer

Position Summary:

This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, enhancing system reliability, and ensuring compliance with industry recognized Management Systems. The Systems Engineer will lead initiatives to improve factory performance, manage internal and external audits, and optimize business systems for efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify performance gaps and reliability issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment uptime, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and optimize processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address performance and reliability concerns.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Kaizen workshops based on assessment prioritization.
  • Participate with developing and launching new products in manufacturing applying lean concepts and philosophies.
  • Design and refine business processes to enhance system integration and operational flow.
  • Analyze, implement, and maintain ERP/MES (Enterprise Resource Planning/Manufacturing Execution System) tools to support factory operations.
  • Conduct data-driven analyses to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate training and support for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of system improvements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Management Systems internal and external audits.
  • Develop and maintain a robust Management System to meet industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with external auditors to ensure successful audit outcomes and timely resolution of findings.
  • Maintain Customer Specific Requirements database
  • Administer Company information and access to Customer Portals
  • Conduct regular operational assessments

Performs all job functions in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure the preservation of the Matikon Quality Policy.

Supports the comprehensive, continuous improvement philosophy for all Matikon Disciplines.

Preferred Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degreein engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of business systems, process design, and process improvement techniques.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, implementing, and maintaining ERP and MES Systems.
  • Experience in using data analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Knowledge of lean concepts, Kaizen methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in performing root cause analysis.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects, including coordinating audits, Kaizen workshops, and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training and support for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, and equipment reliability.
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on quality to ensure the accuracy of data and system implementations.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements.
