A Business Development Manager (BDM) for a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) firm is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and securing consultancy assignments across sectors such as construction, infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. The role involves developing and implementing business development strategies, tracking market trends, and identifying upcoming projects through market intelligence, tenders, and client networks. The Business Development Manager prepares and reviews expressions of interest (EOIs), proposals, and bids, coordinates closely with technical and project teams to develop winning solutions, and leads commercial negotiations up to contract award. The position also requires maintaining strong relationships with clients, developers, contractors, and stakeholders, representing the firm in meetings, industry events, and presentations, and ensuring a healthy pipeline of opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of project management consultancy services, contract structures, and the construction or infrastructure market, are essential for success in this role.
