  • Meat preparation: Using knives, meat saws, and grinders to cut, trim, bone, and grind larger cuts of meat into smaller, retail-ready portions like steaks, roasts, and chops.
  • Sanitation and safety: Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations by properly cleaning and sanitizing workstations, tools, and equipment.
  • Product development: Creating value-added products such as sausages, marinated meats, or kebabs.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in meat cutting or preparation is often preferred or required.
  • Technical skills: Excellent knife skills, manual dexterity, and knowledge of various cuts of meat and preparation techniques.
  • Physical stamina: The ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in refrigerated environments.
  • Customer service skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hygiene knowledge: A solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards is critical.
