We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to support our purchasing and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for procuring all materials, goods, and services required for the manufacturing process, as well as business services unrelated to production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, resourceful, and skilled at building strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent supply, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies required for manufacturing
• Purchase finished goods based on customer demand and sales requirements
• Convert purchase requisitions into accurate and timely purchase orders
• Coordinate with Inventory and Logistics to maintain proper stock levels and prevent shortages
• Source and evaluate new vendors and products - domestic and international
• Maintain awareness of the global supply base, pricing trends, and availability
• Provide product costing data to Sales as needed for quoting and pricing
• Purchase special coatings, outsourced fabrication, and other production resources
• Support R&D procurement for new products and prototype development
• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Sales
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships through communication and performance expectations

What You Bring

• Strong understanding of purchasing workflows and supplier management
• Ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, contracts, and support agreements
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to compare quotes, costs, and supplier capability
• Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and suppliers
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and PO processing
• Ability to balance cost savings with quality, service, and reliability
• Resourcefulness, initiative, and a problem-solving mindset

Education & Experience

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing or supply chain experience (manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred)

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
• Experience sourcing domestic and international suppliers
• Background in procurement of raw materials, coatings, and/or fabricated components
• Familiarity with costing models and price analysis
• ERP purchasing experience (GSS or similar)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
