Buyer II – CAPEX Procurement (Industrial)

Do you work with Capex procurement focused less on transactional duties but heavily oriented in analyzing business needs, negotiating, building relationships and supporting high-value capital projects?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading U.S. chemical operator as a Buyer II moving into a senior / Buyer III position supporting CAPEX procurement across multiple sites in a role that goes beyond transactional purchasing and focuses on business needs, analysis and negotiation.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in sourcing equipment, materials, and services for large-scale engineering and construction projects, ensuring compliance, value, and quality as well administration and drafting on TOB.

This your opportunity to grow into a senior position within the year whilst working closely with engineering, operations, HSSE, and finance teams and enjoying cross-functional collaboration, vendor interaction, and contributing to commercial strategy within a safety-driven industrial environment.

THE ROLE:

• Manage CAPEX procurement activities including sourcing, bid evaluations, supplier research, and commercial documentation for major equipment and construction packages.

• Support the development and refinement of commercial terms, scopes of work, and contract drafts in alignment with company standards and legal requirements.

• Engage regularly with project managers, engineers, and site stakeholders to understand requirements, align purchasing strategy, and ensure timely project delivery.

• Utilize Coupa or Oracle ERP systems to track procurement workflows, manage vendors, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the CAPEX lifecycle.

THE PERSON:

• Procurement experience, ideally within plants, refineries, energy, industrial manufacturing, or engineering project environments.

• Hands-on experience with CAPEX purchasing, including equipment, fabrication, engineering services, or construction packages.

• Skilled in using Coupa, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms, with strong attention to detail and procurement documentation.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, capable of working with engineers, leadership, and vendors.
