Materials Buyer

**Lynden Door – 2077 Main Street, Lynden, WA 98264**

**Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | On-site**

Join our Purchasing team as a Materials Buyer and take charge of managing the procurement process for designated raw materials. You’ll maintain optimal inventory levels, foster strong supplier relationships, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Your critical thinking, integrity, and ability to stay focused amid changing priorities will directly impact our operations and product quality.

As a member of our Purchasing Department, you’ll play a key role in supporting efficient production and exceptional product outcomes while representing Lynden Door to our valued suppliers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Materials and Operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Analyze usage of stock and non-stock items to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Use forecasting tools and purchasing systems to manage supply and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain strong, effective relationships with suppliers and evaluate new vendors.
  • Serve as the face of Lynden Door to suppliers—conduct regular meetings to discuss performance, negotiate terms, and address issues professionally.
  • Visit vendor facilities to assess capabilities, ensure quality compliance, and strengthen partnerships.
  • Ensure purchased materials meet established quality standards and collaborate with Quality and Production teams to address any material issues.
  • Track vendor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Generate purchase orders and coordinate with Accounts Payable as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned materials and processes.
  • Develop expertise in assigned material categories and understand how materials integrate into our manufacturing process.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing systems and improve process efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Purchasing team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, office roles, or equivalent education/experience that would support success in this role is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and professional integrity.
  • Ability to adapt to interruptions while maintaining focus on priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with a commitment to representing Lynden Door’s values in all supplier interactions.

What We Offer

  • Salary of $50,000 - $70,000 annually
  • 8 Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation
  • 401(K) after 90 days, and 401(k) profit-share eligibility after 1 calendar year of employment.
  • Comprehensive Medical/ Dental/ Vision Benefits Options with HSA Contributions of $500-1,500 annually for eligible plans.
