Position: Buyer
Sealth Aero Marine provides aircraft interior and furniture parts throughout the domestic and international markets, serving the commercial aircraft sector as well as the private and business jet industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Aerospace Buyer to join our team. The buyer plays an important role in our supply chain management. This role requires cooperating with engineering, scheduler, quality, and production, in the supply of high-quality parts on time to our customers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in aerospace procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of the aerospace industry supply chain.
What You Will Do:
The Buyer is responsible for facilitating the timely order flow of materials, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing components, materials and supplies to support our aerospace manufacturing operations. Expedite deliveries to resolve shortages, optimize inventory levels, maintain compliance to approved supplier list and agreement terms and conditions. Buyer’s support and implement Supply Chain initiatives and best practices
Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials, components, equipment, and services from a variety of sources, including maintaining associated MRP system requirements
- Identify and evaluate suppliers of components and materials based on quality, reliability, and cost- effectiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and favorable terms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and consistent quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, Quality and production, to identify and address supply chain issues and potential risks.
- Communicates performance expectations, monitor and track supplier performance, including delivery times, product quality, and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the supply chain process to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to identify potential opportunities and risks.
- Review and validate the Supplier Report Cards on a monthly basis
- Support engineering changes and communicate to suppliers
- Manage MRB dispositioned- RTV activities
- Track delivery confirmations from suppliers and responsible for updating the system accordingly
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in aerospace procurement or a similar role under AS9100 requirements.
- More than 1 year of experience working directly with suppliers or supplier management
- More than 1 year of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
- In-depth knowledge of the aerospace industry, including familiarity with aerospace materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address supply chain issues effectively.
- The ability to work independently and a small team environment
- Proficient in using procurement software as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook tools to manage supplier relationships and track procurement activities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with reading and understanding drawings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with international procurement and knowledge of import/export regulations.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Pay: $27 - $33 per hour DOE
