Reina Imaging is privately held, family-owned manufacturer headquartered in Crystal Lake, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) that specializes in the design and manufacture of Digital Radiography Panel Holders, Positioners, and other protective devices and accessories. Reina Imaging products serve the Medical, Veterinary, and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) industries. Reina Imaging products aim to enhance workflow during Radiographic exams, tests, or processes. JOB SUMMARY:

The Buyer position is directly responsible for the purchasing, stocking, inventory management, and supplier relationships. The core functions of the position range from tasking (e.g., generation of purchase order, qualification of suppliers) to contract negotiation (e.g., pricing agreements, terms). The Buyer answers to upper management (VP and President) and advises them on the procurement needs of the company.

This is an in-person position, based at our corporate headquarters in Crystal Lake, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assigns purchase orders to trained staff. Reviews and approves purchase orders generated by others.
  • Generates purchase orders as needed. Submits purchase orders for review to trained staff.
  • Performs or assigns follow-ups to ensure purchase orders are accepted and fulfilled to the specifications of the order.
  • Takes remedial actions with suppliers as necessary to ensure PO’s are fulfilled as required.
  • Supplier Management
  • Manages backordered supplies to ensure Reina staff and management can fulfill customer orders.
  • Drive on-time delivery metrics and ensure Supplier Quality performance metrics are maintained and execute corrective actions, as necessary.
  • Verify quality of products in standard of ISO regulations.
  • Takes remedial action with suppliers when necessary to address non-conforming material, non-performance of contractual agreements, and/or other conditions requiring remedy.
  • Maintains the supplier scorecard.
  • Prepares supplier reviews (annually or as needed).
  • Negotiates pricing and pricing agreements for purchased inputs.
  • Seeks out and qualifies new suppliers as needed by the Company. Performs the tasks required for the new vendor approval process.
  • Performs supplier site visits periodically to verify compliance to quality agreements.
  • Manages the distribution of workload to qualified suppliers to ensure Reina Imaging receives product in a timely manner.
  • Works hand-in-hand with Reina management on costing projects and inventory strategy.
  • Performs administrative and clerical duties as needed – such as filing of purchasing documents.
  • Responsible for the recording of purchasing data in the ERP, and Salesforce software.
  • Generates Stocking Reports and takes action as necessary to keep key inputs in stock.
  • Works hand-in-hand with the production manager to help order workflow to meet demands.
  • Coordinates with the Production Manager to schedule and perform regular Inventory Counts. Works with the requisite teams to accomplish the goals of the count.
  • Performs other related duties as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Supply Chain/Operations/Logistics or similar degree.
  • APICS or related certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related position.
  • Strong Analytical, problem solving and systems understanding required.
  • MRP experience.
  • Strong interdepartmental communication, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel – pivot tables, V-lookup, Graphs, VB automation.
  • High drive for organization and structure.
  • Personally accountable for workload management.
  • Ability to think systematically to solve problems and streamline workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
