Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to lead our procurement initiatives to reduce and maintain acquisition costs. In this pivotal role, you will optimize purchasing processes to ensure the timely delivery of quality materials and products. Your expertise will contribute to streamlining supply chain operations, enhancing inventory management, and supporting overall business growth. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and interested in continuous improvement.
Duties
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on cost savings and optimizing inventory levels.
- Execute end-to-end purchasing activities utilizing ERP system to ensure accurate order placement and tracking.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and monitor KPI to maintain quality standards for supplier performance.
- Collaborate with customer service to forecast needs and coordinate procurement schedules.
- Monitor supply chain dynamics to plan for contingencies and mitigate potential risks.
- Implement measures to ensure continuous improvement of procurement processes.
- Direct the departmental assistants to ensure that orders are confirmed and updated; compliance requirements are met; expedite requests are filled; product data is maintained; and receiving activities are carried out in a timely manner.
Skills
- Experience with ERP systems in procurement functions.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices including sourcing strategies, planning, and inventory control.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to EOQ, inventory trends, and supply chain performance.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving market conditions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Strong organization, leadership, and communication skills.
- Self-starter who feels comfortable taking ownership of tasks and duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business field, Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 2+ years of purchasing experience; distribution and/or electrical industry experience a plus.
- 2+ years of ERP experience preferred.
- A combination of directly relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of a specialized degree.
