Buyer - Associate

The Vealey Group is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our clients procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring that materials and services are acquired at the best possible prices while maintaining quality standards. The Buyer will collaborate with various departments to optimize supply chain management, support production planning, and ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations.

Duties

• Manage procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and purchasing materials and services.
• Utilize ERP systems such as INS and Oracle EBS for tracking inventory levels, placing orders, and managing supplier relationships.
• Conduct root cause analysis to address supply chain issues and implement effective solutions.
• Oversee supplier management to ensure quality control and adherence to contract specifications.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate material deliveries and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Implement category management strategies to enhance purchasing efficiency across various product lines.
• Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations throughout the procurement process.
• Participate in production planning meetings to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.

Experience

• Proven experience in procurement or a related field, with a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics.
• Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) processes and logistics operations.
• Proficient in negotiation techniques and contract management practices.
• Experience working within manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of quality management principles as they relate to procurement activities.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis for informed decision-making.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
