QVC/HSN's Home Textiles department have an exciting opportunity for a talented Buyer I to join the team. The Buyer I position is a developmental role intended to prepare for a Buyer II position. The primary responsibility of the Buyer I is to develop, negotiate and execute new products and ideas while maximizing multi-platform opportunities that will resonate with QVC's customer. The Buyer I will be part of the team that buys Home Textiles for both on air, extended assortment, and social.
We are hybrid and in office ~4-6 times a month.

Your Impact
Under the supervision of the Senior Buyer, the Buyer I is responsible for maintaining the on-air assortment for assigned merchandise categories and executing on air strategies.
Identify, develop, negotiate terms, and purchase items that will be successful in video, ecommerce, and social retail and which meet or exceed the expectations of our customers. Analyze item, category, and other relevant on air sales to follow trends and react accordingly based on performance. Analyze the productivity of each vendor and category within product lines of responsibility. Evaluate customer-buying behaviors and identify trends.
Responsible for daily office functions (e.g., maintaining spreadsheets, item creation, etc). Assist in training the Intern and Assistant Buyer regarding daily office operations. Handle Quality Assurance (QA) issues. Demonstrate a high level of product expertise.
Partner and communicate with internal counterparts to maximize efficiency of product lifecycle activities and manage the order process. Establish cross-functional relationships with Quality Assurance, Category production, eCommerce, Legal, Social Marketing, Multi Channel Planning, Sales, and Planning to ensure products are presented to our customer properly. Developing these relationships is an essential part of maintaining clear business goals and objectives.
Establish and maintain vendor relationships. Responsible for vendor communication, education and preparation. Responsible to return all vendor calls in a timely basis. Give effective oral and written presentations.
What You Bring
2-5 years of corporate merchandise buying experience. Experience leading a category strategy.
Bachelors or equivalent experience
Refined leadership to lean into managing a direct report and owning their development
Pioneering spirit with keen communication skills to influence
Stop OTB background
Experience working with national brands preferred
