Why This Role MattersThe Buying Team plays a key role in helping keep Hawai‘i fed by ensuring our customers always have access to fresh food products. As a Buyer I focusing on store orders, you’ll support the team in managing a fast-paced, high-volume category of everyday goods. You’ll assist with placing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining inventory levels to make sure products are available when our customers need them most.

The Buyer I is responsible for managing daily store orders across multiple locations. Primary responsibilities include determining accurate store orders based on promotions, sales trends, and inventory levels while coordinating closely with internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will take ownerships of order accuracy, maintain ordering systems and guides, and ensure timely product flow to support store operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate vendor purchase orders via inventory software – local & Mainland.
  • Review inventory levels via reports & warehouse counts and research discrepancies.
  • Communicate with operations managers on all islands.
  • Review upcoming promotions by customer chain and assist promo analyst as needed with forecasts.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as operations, distribution and inventory teams.
  • Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with vendors.
  • For Store Orders:
  • ~Determine store orders daily taking into account promos, sales trends, etc.
  • ~Build relationships & communicate with Field Ops, Warehouse, Distribution ops, Store Managers, etc.
  • ~Store visits for chains managing orders
  • ~Order guide & purchasing system updates/maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge or purchasing procedures and supply chain management.
  • Strong problem solving, self-accountability, analytical & negotiation skills.
  • Identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers and implement best solutions.
  • Works well independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Detail-orientated, ability to multi-task & strong time-management skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to keep calm under pressure and discuss solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical and statistics skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.

About Us

  • Starting Pay: $55,000/Year. Relevant skills and experience will be highly considered in actual wage.
