Buyer II

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Buyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing materials, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of quality products. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of procurement processes within the logistics and supply chain environment.

Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders by using Fourth Shift purchasing parameters
• Collaborate with production and sales to meet demand and maintain optimal production levels
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure reliability and quality
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and other goods
• Increase number of turns in inventory/monitor inventory
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to support production needs and business growth
• Ensure all purchased materials meet company quality standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains
• Work with quality manager to address any material related issues
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve a cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing, alternative suppliers, or process improvements
• Use 4th Shift to track purchasing activities and generate reports
• Monitor inventory to prevent out-of-stocks and over-stocks

Experience

• Proven experience in a procurement or planning role.
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing
• Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to negotiate effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to understand, analyze and react on purchase planning reports
• Detailed-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proactive problem solver with a focus on continues improvement

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
