Purchasing Agent
Mission of the Role
Compiles and coordinates information to procure products and services for the company.
Education/Experience
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from accredited college or technical school and/or one to three years related experience is desired. Education and/or experience requirements may be waived at management discretion.
Key Purchasing Agent Accountabilities

Compiles and coordinates information to procure products and services for the company.

Maintains approved supplier list and other supplier documents.

Prepares and issues standard purchase orders, purchase order changes, blanket orders, special request orders, or hot orders as needed.

Discusses defective or unacceptable products or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Implements inventory price adjustment settings such as special discounts or matrix pricing.

Provides inventory reports as required.

Analyzes supplier invoices and issues adjustments as needed.

Sets up and maintains inventory part numbers as required.

Assist Inside Sales with sales quotes by contacting suppliers to negotiate best price and best lead time.

Gives recommendations on continual improvement of purchasing process in order to gain operational efficiencies.

Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

Follows all process and procedures as established by Hartfiel Automation.

Operates within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.
Incumbent will need to sit at a work station, utilizing a telephone and personal computer.
Incumbent will need to lift over 10 pounds infrequently to a maximum of 25 pounds
