Position Overview:
The Buyer/Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for the full-cycle procurement process including supplier sourcing, purchase order execution, vendor negotiation, and cost management for turbine and industrial machinery components. This position ensures that procurement operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company goals for on-time delivery and cost effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop procurement strategies specific to turbine and diesel equipment.
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate favorable pricing and contract terms.
- Execute and manage purchase orders, requisitions, and vendor contracts.
- Ensure all procurement activities meet company compliance standards.
- Prepare reports to measure supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, cost savings).
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, logistics, and operations teams.
- Utilize ERP and procurement tools (SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for data analysis and reporting.
- Identify potential supply chain risks and propose solutions for mitigation.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3–5 years of related procurement experience.
- Strong ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Knowledge of turbine and industrial equipment procurement is highly preferred.
- Target Candidate Profile:
- Mid-level Buyers, Procurement Specialists, or Sourcing Analysts.
- 3–10 years’ experience in industrial equipment, oil & gas, or manufacturing.
- Familiar with turbine components, rotating equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Excel-based procurement reporting.
- Candidates from companies such as: Baker Hughes, Solar Turbines, Siemens Energy, Halliburton, DXP Enterprises, NOV, TechnipFMC, or Fluor.
- Mandarin bilingual proficiency is an advantage.
