Position Overview

The Senior Buyer manages materials and/or services to support the company's purchasing programs. The Senior Buyer is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs for indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost, quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards. The position is further responsible for the timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned consistent with Macola software requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Call, fax or email purchase orders to vendors.
  • Assures timely process of sales order fulfillment by maintaining proper inventory levels and expediting back orders.
  • Works with vendors to secure all available discounts (better pricing) are taken.
  • Follow up and tracks any delinquent orders.
  • Follow up on open purchase orders from assigned vendors and keep related parties updated on delays and problems.
  • Inventory cycle counts.
  • Inform vendors of any damages and other receiving issues.
  • Expedite purchased materials as required and ensure items are properly received in the system.
  • Support and mange “Returns to vendor”; Makes sure that RGA requests are honored by the vendors and shipped back in time by our shipping department.
  • Insure that the inventory database is properly analyzed at the end of each month and that the necessary adjustments for ordering points, with regards to one-time sale and spikes in demand, are made.
  • Tracks all warranty activity and issues RGAs as needed.
  • Assisting with other items within the procurement department.
  • Align to company mission, values, strategies and goals.
  • Follow all company safety polices.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Preferred Associates degree and/or experience in purchasing/inventory control.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient with Macola and/or has used an ERP.
  • Proficient in data entry and typing skills.
  • Strong communication skills oral and written.
  • Solid decision-making skills.
  • Strong in mathematics and analytics.
  • Motivated and capable of working independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
