Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer, Bill of Material and Inventory Specialist to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate materials planning, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and overseeing purchasing activities to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proven procurement experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure efficiency across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Create, review, and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOM) for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to support production schedules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams to ensure BOM accuracy and cost efficiency.
  • Track and resolve purchase order discrepancies, backorders, and supplier issues.
  • Analyze material usage trends and provide forecasting to optimize inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management and supply chain processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, materials planning, or inventory management (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Bills of Material (BOM) processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with MAS90/Sage preferred).
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data analysis).
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
