Modern Dairy is a GEA dealership with over 20+ years of experience servicing dairies from Glenn County to Madera County. We specialize in dairy equipment service, repair, and installation, and pride ourselves on quality workmanship and strong relationships with our customers.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Purchaser to manage inventory, order materials, and keep operations running smoothly. This role is key to making sure our technicians have what they need—when they need it.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders using QuickBooks
• Order parts and materials from vendors
• Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records
• Coordinate with technicians, dispatch, and management on material needs
• Follow up on backorders, shortages, and delivery timelines
• Communicate daily with suppliers to ensure timely fulfillment
• Review and resolve vendor invoice discrepancies
• Maintain purchasing and inventory data in QuickBooks and Corrigo
• Monitor open POs and ensure they are updated and closed properly
• Assist with finding new vendors and cost-saving opportunities
• Support overall organization of the shop and inventory systems
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, inventory, or administrative experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
• Basic math and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Comfortable making day-to-day decisions independently
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred, not required.
• Experience with Corrigo is a plus
• Dairy equipment knowledge is a plus
• Team player with good communication skills
