About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Material Planner to support and improve our purchasing and material planning functions in a growing manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring the right materials are available at the right time while balancing cost, inventory, and supplier performance.
This position works closely with production, engineering, and operations to support efficient manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and procure materials to support production requirements
- Manage supplier relationships, pricing, lead times, and delivery performance
- Execute purchasing activities including PO placement, expediting, and issue resolution
- Analyze inventory levels and recommend actions to improve turns and reduce excess/obsolete inventory
- Support forecasting, MRP/ERP planning, and production schedules
- Collaborate with operations and engineering on new products, changes, and supplier qualifications
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk reduction, and process improvement
- Maintain accurate planning and purchasing data within NetSuite ERP
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in buying, material planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, inventory control, and planning fundamentals
- Proven ability to manage suppliers and balance competing priorities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPSM or CPIM certification (highly preferred)
- Experience in a small-to-mid-size manufacturing company
- Familiarity with demand forecasting, lead-time management, and inventory optimization
- Continuous improvement mindset

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
