To support our continued growth and expanding product portfolio, we are seeking a Buyer/Planner who will play a critical role on our Supply Chain Team.
Summary
The Buyer/Planner collaborates closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Lab Manager, and cross-functional teams to support accurate forecasting, timely procurement, receiving, documentation, and inventory management of commercial products, chemicals, and pharmacy supplies. This role helps ensure appropriate stock levels to maintain efficient and compliant pharmacy operations. The Buyer/Planner also assists with material destruction processes for the lab and pharmacy, as well as receiving and stocking materials as needed. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with HIPAA regulations, applicable State and Federal laws, and current company policies and procedures.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Supply Chain Manger.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and managing material inventory in support of activities in the laboratory and pharmacy.
- Assist in analyzing the pharmacy’s demand requirements to determine an appropriate safety stock for standard items
- Proactively mitigate supply disruption by accurately assessing risk, inventory levels, lead time, and cost.
- Assist in managing supplier performance by assessing quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
- Manage Supply Agreements (as applicable) with key suppliers.
- Assist in identifying alternate sources of supply to improve quality and cost and to maintain supply chain continuity.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse personnel to receive, stock, and organize incoming materials and distribute to the necessary personnel.
- Assist in managing the material receipt process by verifying documentation and product information, checking for damage or discrepancies, and documenting any observed issues.
- Maintain appropriate inventory life cycle management by utilizing FEFO/FIFO methodology.
- Utilize inventory management software to coordinate the receipt, release, and labeling of laboratory materials.
- Assist with bulk chemical, pharmaceutical waste, and hazardous waste destruction activities.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of procurement, purchasing, or planning experience is preferred.
- Advanced skills in data analysis and trending using Microsoft Excel.
