Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the incumbent is responsible for collaborating with the procurement team to develop and execute strategies that lead to inventory optimization and cost savings to achieve the Company’s sales, profitability, and inventory turnover objectives.
Candidates must reside in the Atlanta area to be considered for this role.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Works with Director of Supply Chain to coordinate purchasing activities.
- Processes purchasing and relevant ERP transactions
- Examines and analyzes purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information
- Analyzes Customer/Vendor Ship Schedule (Backlog) and communicates order status in meetings
- Maintain production schedules for ongoing projects, assign materials to reduce costs, boost productivity and prevent delays that can affect delivery 25%
Contributes to the inception and maintenance of supplier relationships.
- Supports department with negotiations with suppliers to obtain target cost and payment terms
- Participates in the building of relationships and partnerships with suppliers and vendors
- Monitors and manages their vendor / supplier performance, ensuring goods are shipped and delivered timely.
- Supports sourcing initiatives for new suppliers who could offer improved quality, lower cost, and service
- Actively participate in product development process and configuration control board reviews to ensure production readiness requirements
- Participates in routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and opportunities for improvement
- Serve as a liaison with Receiving & QA teams to facilitate quality related supply chain activities, ensuring product is ready in time for shipment to market 25%
Participates in inventory control activities.
- Takes requisition orders from within the organization
- Prepare weekly, monthly reports (inventory, depletion, VMI, etc.) as directed for the Operations Department to support various meeting subject matters.
- Leads in cycle count activities and maintain accuracy of 96%
- Works with Finance on making sure the End of Month reconciliation is completed accurately and done in a timely manner.
- Monitors inventory levels, assess supply vendors and ensure delivered supplies meet quality standards.
- Works with Trade/Finance to review and challenge forecasted demand and evaluate inventory levels
- Contact vendors, place orders, verify supplies, manage supply requisition and communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates and inform Project Managers of potential delays.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to procurement and inventory management
Education/Experience
Required:
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role with 2-4 years of work experience.
- Detail oriented with a sense of urgency on assigned tasks
- General knowledge of inventory management
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Experience in Microsoft 360 & Domo
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management
